Resolution Life Solutions

Resolution Life is a global company with offices in Bermuda, Singapore, the UK and the US. We offer several core solutions and work with cedents to customise the solution to meet their specific needs.

1. In-force reinsurance

A reinsurance agreement where we assume the risk and responsibility for a portfolio of existing policies, but the original insurer retains legal ownership. This is structured as a ‘reinsurance treaty’ that transfers risk and financial responsibility without transferring policy ownership.

2. Legal entity acquisition

A one-time transaction in which we acquire a large portfolio of existing policies from another insurer, through the acquisition of a legal entity.

3. Flow reinsurance

An ongoing agreement where insurers cede new policies to us over time, as they are written. Where in-force reinsurance focuses on policies already in place, flow reinsurance is for policies that are currently being written or will be in the future.

4. Transfer of operations

In connection with in-force reinsurance, legal entity acquisition, or flow reinsurance, Resolution Life assumes responsibility for servicing policyholders and administering their policies.

Resolution Life operates in Bermuda, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.

Bermuda

Bermuda is our Headquarters and home to our reinsurance business. From here, we reinsure the financial and insurance responsibilities linked to portfolios of existing policies sold by established life insurers across the globe, including in the US, Asia, and Europe.

United States

Our US team acquires existing life and annuity portfolios from insurance companies through both reinsurance and the purchase of legal entities, and has policy administration responsibilities. The US is a key growth market for us, due to its size and strong demand for the specialist management of legacy portfolios.

United Kingdom

The UK is a key market for pension risk transfer (PRT) reinsurance. We execute funded reinsurance transactions with UK-regulated insurers, covering longevity and asset risks linked to pension liabilities. We’ve completed multiple UK PRT deals, managing billions in liabilities and supporting insurers to meet their long-term commitments to policyholders.

Singapore

Singapore is our regional headquarters for Asia. Our team in Singapore drives our strategy & growth in the region. We’ve executed block and flow reinsurance transactions with insurers in Japan and Hong Kong.
