The Role

This position is currently available as a long-term temporary role.  The position is full-time and is expected to be needed through Q1 2018, but may be extended due to business needs.


The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for ensuring that requests from customers, insurance agents, and third party administrators are handled effectively and efficiently; along with taking care to maintain the customer’s relationship with the company. This role is a critical partner with our Third Party Administrators and internal employees.  Additional administrative knowledge and experience is preferred in order to speak as an authority in defining operational processes and give direction and support in facilitating project implementation goals, but more “entry-level” candidates will be considered.

Essential Responsibilities:

    • Handle escalations and non-standard customer service requests
    • Provide efficient, quality service with concise detail and accuracy via telephone, email and postal mail in response to requests and concerns about products and services.
    • Follow up on customer enquiries to ensure satisfaction and confidence
    • Reach out to customers to reinforce their purchase decision
    • Complete weekly and monthly reports
    • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments and external partners and build effective working relationships
    • Contribute to improvement of processes
    • Serve as an Operations subject matter expert for projects, preferred



Your Experience

  • College degree or 3+ years of customer service experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Hold applicable licenses and state appointments to service as a Home Office Agent (strongly preferred)

  • Must possess a passion for providing outstanding service to customers
  • Ability to succeed in multifaceted, fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills required
  • Ability to comprehend various annuities, life insurance plans and processes
  • Ability to read and interpret standard contract language and effectively communicate back to callers
  • Must be Microsoft Office Suite proficient
